Friday, July 9th

Luckily Melissa, Matt's wife, was fine with us crashing at their house for the night. Actually, she and Matt and their 3 children were wonderful. We woke up to a delicious breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and orange juice. Then they offered to watch our kids while John and I took Bryce to see Dr. Nielsen. Not only that, but while we were gone, Melissa washed and folded our laundry for us. Amazing! It was so fun to get to know them. I wish we had spent more time with them when they lived here in Arizona!

The reason that Utah was part of this trip was to meet with a Dr. Rick Nielsen who was willing to see Bryce and do an EMG. He was very surprised by the results of the test...which were normal! Although that did rule out many disorders, it really only left us with one more doctor who was stumped and didn't really know what else to tell us. He did say that he works in the Payson Hospital with a pediatric neurologist and that he would show Bryce's records to him and see if he has any suggestions. So far, we haven't heard from him. I guess I should email Dr. Nielsen again and see if the other doctor has had a chance to look at Bryce's records. We are very thankful that Dr. Nielsen was able and willing to see us and try to help us out while we were there.

After the appointment, we grabbed some lunch at Los Hermanos and headed back to pick up our kids and say good-bye to Matt and his family. Matt is a pediatrician and gave us a couple of ideas of things to look into which we have talked to our neurologist and geneticist about. We will see what comes of that.

We then headed over to see John's brother Daniel and his family. We spent a wonderful afternoon with them and then went out to dinner at Sonic on our way to the cabin, where we would stay for the night.

My niece...the Adorable Hannah Clayton!

Jacob, Katy, Dan, and William.

Annalise, John, Bryce, and Spencer

After dinner we all headed up to the cabin. Dan had to work, so he left right away, but Katy and Hannah stayed and hung out with us for a while before heading back into Provo. I'm so glad that we got a chance to see them. Although now that Hannah has become a big sister, we are going to have to go back to Utah sometime soon and meet little Isabella Clayton! Congratulations Dan and Katy!
