On the Road Again!

This statement would become our theme for the next few weeks. We returned from Sierra Vista on Monday evening. We planned to leave for our next trip on Wednesday at noon. So Tuesday morning began early with unpacking, washing, and repacking. Tuesday also included physical therapy for Bryce, an orthopedic appointment for Bryce, and Cub Scouts that I was in charge of. Luckily my sister Sheri had all day Tuesday and Wednesday morning off so she came and took care of my other kids during Bryce's appointments and then she took the three older boys to her house to spend the night. I was able to do Cubs at my house that evening so that helped some also.

Here is Bryce with his new AFO's that he got at the orthopedic appointment. He loves having Thomas the Train on them. I like them because they are actually made with two different pieces that makes it harder for him to kick them off. It makes them a little easier to get on as well.

Wednesday morning Sheri came down and picked Annalise and Bryce up and took all 5 kids out to watch airplanes take off and land so that I could finish packing and getting ready. It was amazing how much quicker I could do it without "help". I was even able to get the house cleaned up a bit which I knew would make coming home much nicer! Thank you Sheri, you are a life saver!

When I had the van packed and everything ready to go, I picked John up at work and then met Sheri at a gas station that was on our way out of town. It took us a bit to get everyone situated, but soon we were on our way to Utah...the first leg of this trip. We had hoped to get to St. George to stay with John's Aunt and Uncle there Wed. night, but we were unable to get a hold of them and by the time we got to Vegas, it was getting pretty late so we decided to stay there for the night. We stayed in Palace Station which is on the edge of Vegas. It was a decent place with a pool and a buffet where we had breakfast the next morning.

Annalise seemed to feel quite at home at the Vegas buffet. She loved the melon, but I think she had a little too much of it since later that day she had a nice blow out diaper all over herself, her car seat, and the seat of the car. We had to pull over to get everything cleaned up. Not fun!

I wish I had taken a picture of William's "before" plate. It was packed full. Don't let his size fool you, that boy can eat!

and be creative once he gets full

Before we went down for breakfast the boys really wanted to swim so we went down to the pool for just a quick swim. It was 7 in the morning and there was only one other person sitting by the pool. Soon however we had more company. A guy came in with a beer in hand. It was obvious that he had already had a little too much to drink! 7AM! Wow, welcome to Vegas. Let's move on to our next stop, shall we?!

We drove the rest of the way into Provo, UT arriving at John's Uncle Keith's home around 6pm. John's cousin Julie and her family met us there with dinner. We ate, swam, and chatted until way past bedtime.

It was so great to visit with Julie and Joe and their adorable kids even if it was just for a short time. We had planned on driving up Springville canyon to stay the night in Keith and Connie's cabin, but since it was so late and dark, we took Matt (another cousin) up on his offer to let us stay at their house for the night.
