Random September Happenings

Here are a few of my Cub Scouts.

Bryce had needed a hair cut for a long time. It is really curly when we let it grow out. These are the before pictures. I didn't get any after...oh well. He looked better anyway!

Here is the Tom turkey that John is raising for Thanksgiving this year. He has gotten huge!

This is the hen. She has begun to lay huge eggs.

No, this was not an experiment. This is some bread I made. I wasn't sure if the yeast I had was any good. As I was kneading the bread, I got a call from the school saying that Spencer was not feeling well. He had gotten heat exhaustion while playing outside. I went to get him and by the time I got home, the bread dough had grown way more than I thought it would. This is what I found. I guess the yeast was fine!

Patterson Elementary had spirit night at Chick-fil-A one night in September. The cow was there and after carrying our tray for us, hung out with us for quite some time. He seemed to really like Bryce...as you can see, the feeling was mutual.

Giving knuckles!

The older boys looking on as they finished their meals.

There is a new housing development going up around the school that the boys go to. They had an open house that my Mom, Jacob, and I went to. The houses were very nice. Here is Jacob in one of the two master closets in one of the homes. It is the one I fell in love with!

This is the laundry room

There was a guy in the last house making balloon animals. His animals were amazing!

Jacob wearing his octopus.

On September 23rd, we celebrated John's 41st birthday. He wanted cheesecake. I was going to make one, but ran out of time. So for his birthday, we ate a store bought cheesecake and then made him one from scratch a couple weeks later.

This is a cookbook that he asked for. It explains all the hows and whys of cooking.

Bryce is doing very well with his new therapist, Miss Nadine Lopo. She is working on both speech and feeding issues, and is fantastic with him.

Annalise playing peek a boo.

Catching Up--August

Today in church we talked about family history. At one point the lady speaking said, "even if you are scrapbooking, that is good. You are doing your family history!" That comment made me feel a little less bad about the time I spend blogging. After all this is our families scrapbook, my journal, and thus, our family history...all wrapped up in one!

While I was spending time blogging about all of our adventures over the Summer, life continued to happen. So, now it is time to catch up on a few of our adventures we have had since our family reunion trips.

The boys finally got to try out the experiment kit that Spencer had gotten for his birthday.

These are some pictures that I took to put onto Bryce's communication device. Here is William.

Jacob went to a birthday party and tried roller skating for the first time. I had to stay for a few minutes and watch him.

This was funny. These girls fell and then Jacob kind of "fake fell" so that he could make sure they were OK. He is the biggest, little lady's man all ready!

He really enjoyed himself and is now asking for roller skates or roller blades for Christmas.

Trunk or Treat

Last night we had our ward Trunk or Treat. There was Chili and cornbread or hot dogs for dinner. Then a little costume parade, the Casper Cha Cha Slide, and of course the trunk or treating. We all had a good time.

Our little earless cat

Thomas the Tank Engine.

Yoshi (from Mario Brothers) William said that not many people knew who he was. A lot thought he was a frog!

ninja/kung fu guy

Astronaut. The huge cheese ball container ended up making a great helmet. Beats the $45 one he wanted at the beginning.

In line for the costume parade

doing the Casper Slide

Our fearless leader, Laurie, leading the Casper Slide

As you can see, she quickly became the earless, noseless cat

Rhett and Bryce. Rhett pushed Bryce all around so that he could Trick or Treat. It was wonderful! We love Rhett and think that he should grow up to be a respite worker, or therapist or something along those lines. He is wonderful with Bryce.

Sisters and our friends Dylan and Addi. Dylan also had fun pushing Bryce around for a while.

David, one of my Cubs passing out candy...and working on an achievement at the same time. What great Cubs I have!

Checking out the loot!
