December 4th---Notrica, Family Fun Night, and Movie

December 4th started early as Bryce and I headed up to PCH for an appointment with Dr. Notrica, the surgeon that placed Bryce's feeding tube. It was a two month follow up. It went pretty well. Bryce's weight was up to 22 lbs 9 oz. so that was good news. While we were there Dr. Notrica had to burn off a bit of granulation tissue that was growing around the button. Not fun for Bryce! Then he showed me how to change the button, so that I can do it at home. I was a little nervous about it, but it looks like it will actually be quite easy and it will save a long drive for just a 5 minute Dr's visit.

That evening the boy's school had their family fun night. They had hay rides, roasting marshmallows, a Christmas store, hot chocolate, and of course Santa. The kids all had a lot of fun.

Spencer snuggled up close to dad for warmth during the hay ride.

William loved roasting marshmallows. You can see Bryce in the background watching the fun.

Watching Dad

Jacob loves marshmallows as well.

Waiting for hot chocolate and Santa

William...all he wants for Christmas is a DS or his own laptop. Luckily Santa just told him that we would have to see.

Spencer wants a DS and a base ball pitching machine.

Jacob asked for a remote control duck tour boat.

Bryce enjoyed visiting with Santa, but kept his wishes to himself this year.

Annalise seemed very intrigued by Santa's beard at the beginning, but soon wanted to get back to the familiar arms of Dad!

The whole family with Santa

We all had a really fun time, but my favorite part was when a friend of mine invited me to join her and another one of our friends for a girls night out after the party. I of course jumped at the chance and my wonderful husband agreed to take the kids home and put them all down to bed by himself. We went to see New Moon. I liked it a lot, much more than the first one. But, the best part was being able to get out, relax, and have some great girl time with friends! It was a fabulous way to step out of everyday life for a while! Thanks for the invite Laurie!
