TakingTurns in Nursery
Nursery was pretty fun yesterday. We only had 5 children in there and 3 adults for part of the time. Sad that we were missing so many kids, but once we had lesson, snack, and coloring time, we pulled out some blocks and started making towers with the kids that were there. Brother Lemieux built a tower that was almost as tall as he is. The kids all helped by adding blocks to the lower sections and then handing them up to Bro. Lemieux as it got taller. The kids were loving it and kept coming to me and John and saying "look at my tower" or pointing to it and saying "mine". The biggest trick was to keep the girls from knocking it over before it was finished. When it was finished, we said someone could knock it over and of course they all started saying me, me, or mine. So we said that we had to take turns and told one of the girls she could be first. Now one side note here, almost every child takes off their shoes the minute they walk through the door, so by this time they were barefoot. Well, she kicked it and as it fell to the floor she looked at the other girl who had wanted to knock it over and said, "That hurt my foot, you can kick it next." The whole time we were building the next tower she kept saying that over and over to the other girl. So, we see that they can be taught to take turns, even though it may take a little foot pain to get them there!

Nursery sounds like a fun place to be. Can't wait to hear if John got a part!
